Here are the updated points standings (as of July 21) for the World Series of Bicycling's Rider of the Year competion. In the men's category, Bobby Lea (USA) holds a 40 point advantage over Shane Kline (USA) comfortably in second place followed by Pete Fitzpatrick (AUS), the 2007 Rider of the Year in third.

MEN'S STANDINGS

In the women's tournament, Laura McCaughey (AUS) leads with 300 points to compatriot Michaela Anderson's (AUS) 260 with American Kacey Manderfield (USA) in third.

Following on the momentum that the international omnium event has created in track cycling, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center launches its own version of this now-marquee event for Master's cyclists! Saturday and Sunday, July 26 - 27, the VPCC will host the 1st Annual Master's Cup for men and women ages 30 and older. All masters with a category 4 or greater license or its international equivelent are eligible race this unique event.

Field sizes are limited to 24 riders in each category...

Friday, July 18, marks one of the most exciting evenings in the World Series of Bicycling at the Festival of Speed and International Women's Challenge! Back again this year will be Australian National Sprint team members Jason Niblet, Scott Sunderland, and Kaarle McCulloch, along with Trinidad and Tobago's Hasseem Maclean, Simon VanVelthooven of New Zealand, Argentina's Leandro Botasso and Demis Aleman, Australian Pete Fitzpatrick and a host of many more international riders. CORPORATE CHALLENGE RAINOUT
July 23, 2008

Due to the severe weather corporate challenge has been cancelled tonight, July 23. Tonight’s practice session will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 27. The early session will be from 4:30pm until 6:30pm and the late session will be from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
